Okay, so! There are two things in particular I'd like to bring up involving Sanageyama.

The first is that he spent most of his youth among juvenile delinquents and street urchins. He felt he fit in better with them than with the upper classes. Also noteworthy is that he's managed to earn the loyalty of many of the toughest of the delinquents, be it through beating them in fights or for helping them solve their problems. So if anyone falls into that category, I'd like to plot something out!

The second is that Sanageyama is an expert swordsman. And he will be interested in meeting other swordsmen, if he hasn't met them already. So anyone who falls under that label is free to come at him!

EDIT: And one more thing! In spite of the company he chooses, he is a noble. If any other nobles want to hash out previous CR, let's do it!

Urchin-ish and juvenile delinquent until the last year or so here. Poor and dicking around with your younger brother until four years ago, he dies, she drops out of doing anything of value other than odd jobs. So we've got a four year span for her to be quite aware/respectful of him.

Oh, yeah, that would have caught his attention. He'd have tried to help her get back on track, no doubts there.

Well that does really depend on what you mean by help I'm not quite sure what you mean?

Really, assistance getting her in a direction toward a career. He'd have tried to motivate her to find something she could make a better living off of than odd jobs.

Oh excellent. That is something I can definitely use because right now there's a ??? in her backstory where she breaks out of her listlessness to be pushed towards joining the Rangers. I have her being inspired by a big name famous one, but someone else to get her to go for it would be cool.

(Because her older sister and her are not on speaking terms and all )

Yeah, he'd do that! Especially if there was another ranger she admired -- encourage her to "be like so-and-so."

Teen brawler and semi-dropout here... Kanji seems to have fights find him rather than specifically looking for them, but he's probably got some respect for the guy?

Yep, I figured there'd be something with Kanji! Sanageyama likely would have heard stories about him and looked for a way to meet him.

Well, how often does he win these fights? I know he normally kicks people's asses in canon, so if that's the case here, then Sanageyama is going to be curious about a guy who's that strong.

He wins a lot, I'd say, at least against regular human opponents? Canon did have him beating down that biker gang and all, and he's a Fighting-type so, yeah.

Yeah. Then he would definitely want to check that out and see for himself, and he'd probably walk away thinking at least somewhat favorably of him since he's a good guy deep down.

Kaido definitely falls under juvenile delinquent, though he's gone clean in the last year to avoid bringing trouble to his found family.

He tends to respect people with goals, and people who are pro-active, rather than strength in itself (he likes strength of character, and will recognise intelectual and emotional strength and not just physical). People who follow through with their ideas and ideals, etc. So Sanageyama would have to earn respect this way.

That being said, he'd be on at least vaguely friendly terms with someone he's helped out in a fight (or who helped him) so it's possible to go that route too. Or having helped him investigate his brother's death? He'd definitely be grateful for that.

... also now I'm laughing at "helping them solve their problems" because oh boy, he's in for some major relationship trouble because he's a fucking idiot, so you're welcome to try something with that too.

...Relationship troubles. Sanageyama will have a field day with that if he catches wind of it.

Anyway, either of those possibilities are definitely feasible, especially the latter. He'd definitely rather not see a death go unsolved if he can help it, especially in a place like Union.

As for his brother, yeah, the death kind of made the headlines at the time because "oh god murder in union wtf" but the killer was never found, and not many people believed Kaido's theory of a shifter being behind it, so! Anyone who'd listened to his opinion and helped him try and track down said shifter would earn his grudging gratitude.

Yeah, he would have been interested in that. It's possible he used his name to get someone from the Swords of the Savior to do a better investigation, as well. He wouldn't have taken kindly to a murder in his home so he'd have put forth extra effort to figure out what happened.

... which leads me to the question: would Kaido know him under his first or last name?

(Kaido just goes by "Kaido" unless you're one of the two people who get to call him by his first name. And speaking of that, Sanageyama would have heard about them. A lot. Half because they were also conneted to his brother (fiancée and sort-of-adopted respetively), half because Kaido talks about them all the time)

Most people call him by his last name, but he doesn't especially care. So whatever Kaido would be more comfortable with.
