Well, as a kid Imogen was a loud vibrant outgoing bundle of energy. As a teen Imogen was a loud vibrant outgoing bundle of energy bent on horrifying the delicate sensibilities of the nobility.

But either way her dresses are amazing and unforgettable.

Perhaps they met as teenagers, then? We could say she wore something daring enough that Feliks overcame his awkwardness about talking to strangers because he just had to say something about it, and then they spent all evening talking about the other guests' clothes with breaks for food and dancing?

Well, talking to Imogen is like inviting a vampire into your home. She then sees no reason not to drag him around to talk, dance, and have fun.

Maybe he saw her as a child and didn't talk to her, and as a teenager finally got up the nerve?
