1. Team Evolution is looking to set up a new machine test near Union. Are you here to help? Stop them? Observe?

2. A day at the races! Today in the Rhyhorn track, it's a complex course with several barricades, vertical climbs, and downhill slopes. Are you a racer? Spectator? What brings you here this fine day?

3. You're out exploring, be it at sea, or perhaps expanding into new, uncharted territories. Where are you? What are you doing?

4. Pokemon Battle! Perhaps it's training, perhaps you're protecting something important, perhaps you're striking out against something vile. Why are you in this fight and what are you doing?

[Secondhand shops happened to be one of Yayoi's favorite things outside of supermarket sales, and with Kasumi's birthday coming up, she had to find something extra special for her younger sister. She had been into feminine and refined things lately, and Yayoi had saved up accordingly.

Although she did look a bit lost, inspecting some of the small, antique lamps sitting on the shelf, a very indecisive, almost worried look on her face. Which one, which one? Would she like this nice pink one? Oh, or maybe this one with the flowers on it? Gosh, there were so many, it was kind of making her head spin.]

[ Seeing somebody else in the store, Hotaru realized why this could be a Bad Plan. Interacting with other people? Nnnnoooope. That was not in her itinerary for the day.

She maneuvered herself so there were a few lamps in between her and the other girl before going back to innocently browsing their selection. A few minutes later, and she noticed in the corner of her eye that the other girl was still there.

...She seemed awfully focused on those lamps. A lot of the more feminine ones - Hotaru tended towards the darker ones herself, but she could tell there were some good ones in the lamps this girl was looking at. And some bad ones.

Clenching her hand for a moment, she steeled herself, but on a false smile, and quickly made her way over to the girl. ]

Not that one [ she refers to the one that Yayoi is looking at currently ] it hasn't been well taken care of. [ She gently moves around the other girl, glancing at one of the ones she had been looking at earlier. Pink. ] This one's much better, if you don't mind the light being bright. Or this one [ she motions towards a white lamp with a gentle design ] if you're looking for something more elegant.

[ Why was she doing this? Putting herself out like this? Hotaru doesn't even know, herself. ]

[Nope, she wasn't leaving here without a gift, no matter how overwhelming and how completely out of her element she was. All she had to do was pick one! One that Kasumi would love! You can do this, Yayoi!

Reaching her hand out for one, the redhead stopped when she heard a gentle voice.]

Huh?

[Turning toward the other girl, she blinked a few times.]

You can tell?

[Yayoi looked at it again. It looked perfectly fine to her. Hmmmmm.

Her expression changed quickly when Hotaru pointed out the white lamp, however, smile shining brighter than the lamps there on the shelf. That was it!]

It's prefect! Kasumi will love this one!

[The redhead tilted her head slightly.]

You're really good at this! It's like you really understand these lamps! Thank you!

[ Ahahaha, what is praise? Hotaru blushes, stepping back. Her job was done here, right? ]

N-No problem. I just collect lamps, that's all.

[ Quick, extradite yourself, Hotaru! Can she turn into an Absol here? ]

You do? Really? Isn't that kind of expensive?

[Sorry, Hotaru, no getting away from her. Not right away, at least.

And Yayoi would probably still want to take you home even if you did.]

It's... it's really not too expensive? [ Did she forget to mention that her guardians are filthy rich? ] I don't buy too many at once anyway.

[Expensive = more than 10 dollars to this girl.]

You mean you buy more than one at a time?!

Is... that strange? [ IT'S WEIRD, ISN'T IT?

This is why she dealt with Pokémon, not people. She goes and opens her mouth and now people think she's weird. She couldn't even go one conversation without messing that up. ]

No, it's amazing! I wish I could do something like that sometimes.

Maybe if they were on sale. Does this place ever run sales? [She seemed like a regular.]

[ WELL, at least this perfectly normal girl doesn't find Hotaru strange! That's a good sign.

Hotaru takes a moment to answer the question. ] I'm not sure. This is my first time to this store.

I haven't seen sales at any of the other antique stories I've visited, either... [ Do they have sales? That might stretch her funds out further. ]

[Perfectly normal girl. Riiiiight.]

Really? But you know so much about all the lamps here. [She looks genuinely surprised.]

You haven't? Maybe you aren't going at the right time. The markets usually only do sales on stuff for a few hours, so you have to really look for them. Maybe they're like that!

[ ...Comparatively. ]

Is that how it works? [ ...Well, she did usually do this kind of thing when Michiru and Haruka were off doing their own things. ] Maybe I'll have to come back later. [ Or earlier? ]

At least that's what they do at the food markets.

I didn't know that. [ ...She should probably explain. ] I've never been to a food market.
