Ryuko wasn't a street kid. I'm leaning toward growing up in an orphanage but they could easily have been old childhood friends before Rose was adopted. Maybe running into each other for the first time in so many years in the game?

I like it! Ryuko'll be kinda surprised to see her old friend heading a mercenary/merchant group but, hey, gives her some incentive to catch up.

Yeah! And Rose'll be a little surprised to find Ryuko out there, to say the least. But, that's a good thing!
