Testrun Meme - March
This is an open testrun meme. Posts here may be used in lieu of a sample entry for any applications. For your convenience, we've provided a few prompts, but feel free to make your own!
1. Team Evolution is looking to set up a new machine test near Union. Are you here to help? Stop them? Observe?
2. A day at the races! Today in the Rhyhorn track, it's a complex course with several barricades, vertical climbs, and downhill slopes. Are you a racer? Spectator? What brings you here this fine day?
3. You're out exploring, be it at sea, or perhaps expanding into new, uncharted territories. Where are you? What are you doing?
4. Pokemon Battle! Perhaps it's training, perhaps you're protecting something important, perhaps you're striking out against something vile. Why are you in this fight and what are you doing?
5. Wildcard! Invent a prompt!

Rikka Hishikawa | Doki Doki! Pretty Cure | Fairy/Ice
[Somewhere, there is a cave. For some reason, Rikka Hishikawa thought it was a good idea at the time to go into this cave. The shortest distance between two points was a straight line, right? Better to just cut straight through. Besides, between her Pokemon and her own powers, she should have been just fine.
Yet instead, a scream comes echoing from out of the cave and moments later, there is a teenage girl fleeing with her hands over her head, a distressed looking Poliwag scrambling after her.]
Flaque, this was a very, very bad idea! What was I thinking?!
[Oh, also.
A horde of Zubats.]
[#5]
[Behold Rikka Hishikawa: super nerd. She is minding her own business, heading home. Completely normal, of course - except for the fact she is carrying a comically huge pile of books in her hands that she can't very well see over.
She's probably going to run right into you, if you're not careful.
By probably, we mean "definitely."]
[3/4-ish]
And then, a blur of blue followed by .... more blue, passed her. Hilda screeched to a halt, looked around, and then started running right after her again. ]
H-Hey! Hey, are you okay?!
no subject
What part of this looks okay?!
no subject
Sam, Thunder Shock on the Zubats!
[ Sam bleated in affirmation and let loose an attack on them to try and get their attention off of the girl. ]
no subject
He was a little slow on the uptake.
Regardless, the Zubats sure react to that. There is some screeching, and hissing, swirling overhead... before they pull back, retreating.
Rikka furrows her brow. Well, if it had been that easy, she could have done something before now, so that was... certainly frustrating.]
...well.
[She breathes a sigh of relief, and uselessly kicks the dirt with her foot. She's bad around strangers, and generally suspicious of them, having helped her or not.]
...thanks.
no subject
Sorry, Rikka. It's not that she means to ignore you. She just has this problem with focusing on one thing at a time sometimes. Sam the Mareep nudges Hilda with his muzzle, meanwhile, trying to get his friend's attention. He knew her long enough to know she was just ... like ... this ... most of the time. ]
no subject
Flaque just looks confused. That's fine, that was normal.
After another moment or three, Rikka coughs. Loudly.]
Guess I'll be on my way, then, provided nothing else is going to hop out and try to kill us...
no subject
Ah ... sorry about that. I was trying to hear what was upsetting the Zubats so much. They're too riled up and too far away now, though.
You're not hurt or anything, are you?
[ HAHA, and you thought you were going to leave soon! ]
no subject
She'd kind of rather she was just allowed to mosey on along.]
I think I just... stepped in the wrong place at the wrong time.
[She waves off the question.] But I'm fine. [You know, besides nearly being torn apart by a horde of wild Pokemon. That's all.]

[3/4]
The source? An Axew, sitting on a nearby rock, spewing an attack that looked like Dragon Rage]
no subject
Where they could stay, if Rikka had anything to say about it. Turns out a simple bit of resistance was well enough to let them know not to mess around.
...
She supposes she should have thought of that, but panic sort of takes over when a dozen fanged creatures suddenly rush you. She breathes a sigh of relief, and then... just reaches up, scoops up the Poliwag into her arms, and starts to hustle away.
Mostly because.
She didn't want to pick a fight with the Axew, now. Well enough of that for today, thanks!]
no subject
[the voice comes... from behind Rikka. From the same rock Axew had been sitting on, in fact. A young boy had popped out from behind it... the Axew's trainer, apparently]
no subject
Rikka was not one to believe in coincidences.]
I'm fine, but I'm going away from here before an entire cave full of Zubats try to eat us. Again.
Poli!
[It's a distinct confirmation, if nothing else.]
no subject
Maybe, but that direction leads further into the cave! If you want to get away from Zubats, that's the wrong way!
no subject
Somehow, she figured out of her friends, she would be the last one to get lost.
This was never going to be mentioned to any of them. Ever.
So, she turns and looks back at him.]
...I don't want to take all day with a major detour, either.
[She furrows her brow in frustration.] I think I took a wrong turn to start with, at this point.
no subject
[he sighs, and raises his hands]
Look, I understand you're suspicious. Where I come from... that's everybody...
no subject
Sorry. Look, I'm not trying to be rude - I guess I should thank you for lending a hand.
[She wouldn't say saving her, because... well. She could have handled things, one way or another. Really. She just wasn't about to say how or why, at least not to him.] But what do you mean, where you're from?

HEY RIKKA. GIVE ME A 5 \o\
Why? Because she's managed to get the special crepe of the day before they had run out. ]
I can't wait, Pinky! It smells so good I can almost taste it!
[ The little Cleffa just rolls her eyes takes a gander around while her human partner is impatiently pre-occupied. It's then that she sees a large stack of books and an almost familiar pair of arms holding it up. Pinky reaches down to pat Usagi on the head to get her attention, but is brushed off because sweet delicious food is being handed to her. ]
Thank you! Come on, Pinky! It's time to eat!
[ Quickly, Usagi turns around, about ready to stuff her face silly. She's quite oblivious to the frantic noises that Pinky's making because if she had even paid attention, she would have noticed that a collision course was unavoidable if she were too slow in maneuvering around.
Guess who's on a one way crash course with a pile of books as a blue Cure? THIS MOON RABBIT HERE. ]
no subject
Thus, the inevitable happens. Rikka runs straight into her, books fly everywhere, and Flaque only takes notice when his partner nearly falls on top of him as she is tossed to the ground by the impact and loss of balance.]
no subject
But no, today was a special day. Because of her precious crepe she had just acquired, she tries to do some almost dance step maneuvers to keep the thing from falling onto the ground. Oh my god does she try. And she succeeds! ... at the cost of falling flat on her face while her hand is still in mid air.
Her pokemon, however, has managed to crawl down Usagi's hair during the crepe dance and is now safely on the ground and managing as deep of a sigh as a pokemon can do anyway.
That takes some skills, yo. ]
no subject
[Rikka has ended up flat on her back. Books are everywhere. Flaque nudges her head, and he's just waved off. Now, the Poliwag looks perfectly fine, knowing his partner isn't dead.
The mess is of no concern to him.
Rikka groans and begins to unsteadily pick herself up.
How embarrassing. She had more grace than all this. And she just ran into a total ... stranger ...]
Oh.
[Or not, as she suddenly bolts up to her feet, scrambling to the older girl's side.]
Usagi! Oh, I'm sorry! I didn't see you coming!
no subject
Or wait. She knew that voice. SCRATCH THAT that was something else she recognized. ]
Ish okay, Rikka.
[ Idly, she waves her free hand in the air to try and ward off the younger girls' worry.
It would work better if she still weren't face first into the pavement. ]
I'm fine!
no subject
You don't look fine!
[Argh. It's a good thing she's used to dealing with people like this.] I should have watched where I was going...
no subject
[ Finally, Usagi pulls her face from the sidewalk, and falls back onto her butt. For a moment, she feels her face to make sure that isn't broken anywhere and just lets out a sigh of relief.
Especially since that crepe of hers is still safe! Awesome! Usagi's about to eat her food when she notices the large pile of books that Rikka has gathered around her. ]
You know you can check out books in small doses, right?
no subject
That was true, but...]
Ah, this way's more efficient! So I don't have to keep going back.
[And she starts to hastily pick them up. More than anything to cover the fact that, in addition to the copious amounts of academic material, there was a romance novel or two littered about the walkway now.]
