Plotting Post // Aster

Hello, all! Here with a planning post for Aster if any of you want to plan anything involving him! I'm open to lots of things, so feel free to comment or PM me or w/e! I'll throw the rest into a cut just in case of anything that could be considered a spoiler!

Aster is an orphaned teenage genius who lives with his two pokemon and has not had much human interaction. He left school when he was ten after the emergence of some of his Enlightened powers. For about six years now, he has worked as a pokemon researcher, though he has not traveled much outside of Union as of yet. Most of his time is now spent watching pokemon, studying, and keeping his two pokemon companions out of trouble--namely his Purrloin, Braea.

While he does not actively seek human companionship since he feels distanced from society, he will not refuse the opportunity to make a friend if it seems to present itself to him.

I don't really have many ideas for plot arcs at this time, but if anyone wants to thread with him or whatnot, feel free to offer any suggestions! If there needs a way for two characters to meet, Braea often likes to pull pranks on unsuspecting victims and overall cause (mostly harmless) trouble for those around her. Many days, Aster has found himself having to clean up the pokemon's messes.

...Yeah. That's about all I got right now, though I'll add stuff if I think of anything.

Anyways I cheated and read Aster's app and the whole unsure about going outside of Union is kind of Roxas right now as well. He's only traveled to a few places and all those places he's gone with people. Also the whole memory loss thing is totally Roxas too o o p s. And dark types are ok but Poison? no thanks.

THAT SAID Roxas at this point probably wouldn't engage a conversation (he's getting there) but his Sylveon Sora on the other hand loves to run up to new people so Roxas can make new friends. So that can totally be a way for them to meet.

Sooo yeah! Totally want CR with Aster somehow! Roxas lives at the psychiatric ward of the medical center right now but he's starting to get out and about more so it shouldn't be too hard for them to meet? Especially with Sora's help.

It's okay, I'm lazy sometimes, too! ...Okay, a lot of time, but shh.

I'd love to do something! I could see maybe Sora running up, and then Aster's Eevee, Tonitrus, getting curious and chatting with the Sylveon and then "dragging" Aster over to go talk to Roxas. And then Aster and Roxas start up probably-awkward conversation... perhaps only to have Braea come up, steal something of Roxas's perhaps, and then the two have to track the Purrloin down to get back what was stolen? Or something.
Braea is totally a plot device.

Yes I am totally okay with all of this! At the very least Roxas will apologize for his Sylveon's antics because eevee(lution) please running off or dragging your trainer places why. Also Roxas has 'X' necklace that he wears so Braea can totally steal that or something.

Sounds good to me! Would you mind starting the post/log/whatever it is? That way you could pick wherever it happens since Aster could easily be wandering around wherever in the town.

Sure! I was planning on making a Roxas post once his trip with Sora (his twin) made some good leeway so I can maybe put an action part reserved for Aster in the post?

Is it okay for me to wholly volunteer Garry as the butt of many past and future pranks by Braea that scare the bejeezus out of him? Because he is quite the easy target.

It is totally okay to volunteer him! If he's an easy target, then Braea would looove picking on him if she ever saw him! Much to Aster's annoyance but hey.

Garry is a giant scaredy pants 100% of the time. Garry's also pretty sure about leaving the security of Union as well so maybe that can be at least a common thread?

Maybe as a sorta thing to make it up to Garry, Aster could offer for the two to travel somewhere together or something? I'm assuming he'll feel pretty bad if poor Garry is constantly picked on, after all!

Garry would definitely appreciate it! Though he may be a bit leery of that prankster pokemon!

Well, he could always get Braea to stay behind, perhaps! ...Or just watch her with the eyes of a hawk to make sure she does not try anything.

A curious thought: Since Garry is a teacher, would he have done so say...5.5 years ago, too? 'Cause if so and if you wanted we could have had Garry be one of Aster's teachers when he was still in school! He left a bit before he was eleven, and he just recently turned sixteen here.

Garry's about 23ish so I think it's safe to assume he's been teaching on his own for about three or so years, but I could definitely see him sitting in on his parents classes as an intern or a substitute to try and learn some things! So if you'd like we can incorporate that as well!

I think that'd be pretty cool for them to recognize each other! Even if just like "Hey, I saw that guy years ago!"

hmmm i don't think there's any reason for the two of them to meet right now, but if aster ever travels out of the Union, i could have Jade run into him then? He's part of the Rangers so he does a lot of patrolling, and has an interest in observing Pokemon too!

Okay but really, Hilda likes making new friends and it'd be interesting to see how she interacts with someone who is way smarter than she is then again most people are way smarter than she is so hahaha.

And they both have the dropped-out-of-school thing in common! Even if Aster's still being a nerd and reading textbooks and stuff. Depending on her age, too, they could maybe been classmates at some point?

She's 16 in this AU. It's entirely possible? Though if Aster's really smart, he might have been way ahead of her. They can totally talk about dropping out of school, though! Among other things. Like Pokemon. And Pokemon. And ... Pokemon.

Umm, I imagine he wouldn't have been "ahead" so much as just doing the work + getting good (near perfect) scores, as well as studying other stuff in his free time.

Oh goodness they can be huge pokenerds together and yes.

They can be Kindred Soul buddies, too. 8Db It'll be nice for her to meet someone who can understand Pokemon without the warp band like she can.

Hello hello! Blue is all about meeting new people and getting to know them and helping them out and all that goody goody stuff. Her wartortle Indigo is a bold natured and also one who loves to engage in pranks, so I could see his purrloin and Blue's wartortle? Mischief against each other or the world.

If there's the possibility also of Aster asking (not directly, but through a notice?) for trainers or any venturers outside to bring back any samples for him. Unless he focuses primarily on the study of pokemon, but then, with the introduction of the video technology on the warp bands, recordings made for him could have been a thing. Since voices and video feeds can both be set to private. Just an idea? \o I know Blue wouldn't have mind doing tasks like that.

But I would be happy to throw around ideas with you! Blue is 18, and she doesn't really mind what age group she gets along with. She's rather easy going. Also also, she's a Far From Ordinary just to mention.

The poor, poor world should ever the two pokemon meet and engage in pranks together. Let's do it!

Maybe? Though I think Aster would probably prefer to see things firsthand. I'm working on some ideas to get him out into the world and stop holing up in Union! c:

Throwing ideas around is fun! And I'd love to have him interact with as many as he can! ^^
