Canon Name: Mobile Suit Gundam 00
Brief History: Lyle is a mecha pilot for the private armed organization known as Celestial Being. He joined the group to fill the vacant seat created when his twin brother, Neil, died. While he was part of Celestial Being, Lyle fought the A-LAWS, an autonomous peacekeeping force that used brutal measures to suppress anti-government activity and keep the “peace”; the Innovators, a group of artificial humans who were pulling the A-LAWS’s strings; and the ELS, an extraterrestrial race that attempted to invade Earth and assimilate all living things on the planet.

AU Ideas: Lyle will come from a middle-class family and work as a ranger. He will have taken the job in the first place because it will allow him to search for his brother, who will have disappeared on the job -- and his brother will have been looking for the man who will have murdered their parents and sister. He’ll be an expert in handling firearms and a skilled sniper, and his Pokémon types will be Fire and Flying. His perk will be Mastery of Battle.
Looking For: I’d like someone to be the man who killed Lyle’s family; preference would be toward the man canonically responsible, Ali al-Saachez, but someone to fill his shoes will also work. I’m also hoping to get him a Houndour and a Houndoominite because 1) he’s Irish and Celtic mythology reference and 2) it fits his solar-based theme.

Character Name: Ky Kiske
Canon Name: Guilty Gear
Brief History: Ky is a charismatic young captain in the International Police Force. Prior to that, he was the commander of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights, the most elite fighting force humanity had at its disposal during the century-long war known as the Crusades. He had been orphaned at the age of ten, and later sought the training of the previous commander, Kliff Undersn. When Kliff retired, Ky succeeded him, and helped bring the war to an end. Ever since, though, he’s been struggling to adapt to the post-war world -- he has the tendency to view things in black and white, and the post-war world operates in shades of gray.

AU Ideas: Ky will be Lux’s cousin, and from a branch family of the Crownguard family tree. He will have been raised similarly to Lux’s older brother, Garen, though he and Lux will barely know one another. He’ll be an active member of the Swords of the Savior, his Pokémon types will be Electric and Fighting, and his trainer perk will be Mastery of Training.
Looking For: First -- SOL. I would LOVE to have a Sol around to endlessly frustrate Ky and help him develop. I’d also like to get him a woman to be betrothed to, ideally someone he could naturally fall in love with during the course of the RP.

Character Name: Miranda Fallow
Canon Name: Doctor Franklin's Island
Brief History: The teenaged daughter of two high-powered scientists, Miranda almost always appears confident and sure of herself, and does well in some horrible situations if she has someone to try to look after. Said situations include being planewrecked on a desert island and imprisoned while a mad scientist has her as his "pupil" and transforms her into a bird monster. She does start to lose herself as a bird monster, but is able to come back to save her best friend and ends up being able to change back and forth from bird monster to mostly human-looking.

AU Ideas: I think the mad scientist aspect has to be dropped, but idk! Either way, she has Enlightened parents, both dedicated and working in the city now, though they used to operate more outside of it. Miranda's been raised with a degree of pressure about ending up someone big and important and both wants that, and to try and get away.

She might be a Taillow shifter.
Looking For: Her parents might work! Maybe an analogue to her best friend Semi, who was with her for the crash and the mad scientist stuff. Semi seemed more uncertain and fragile and needed someone. Otherwise idk!

TBH I DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW WHO I'M GONNA APP but here's the one I'm most leaning towards

Character Name: Ondorus
Canon Name: Rune Factory
Brief History: Ondorus is one of the last two living members of the Univir, a monster tribe that's been all SWORN ENEMIES with a human village for generations. He's a bookish, empathetic sort who is entirely aware that the feud is bullshit and helps the player character of Rune Factory 3 reunite the humans and monsters, but is held back from taking action himself by his deep loyalty to his friend and leader, who takes the feud to heart. When not being involved in the plot as the resident infodumper and advice-giver, he reads books, does general peacekeeper and village-administrative stuff, and fusses mightily over everyone who's more impulsive than he is (which is everyone).

AU Ideas: OOF. I'm not sure how to AU the whole Univir tribe thing into the setting or whether to just leave it off entirely, because a lot of his personal conflict is about his duty to his tribe as its youngest and probably last member - I need to drop some culture questions on the mods to figure out what role lineage might play in his life. I know I'm going to be giving him a backstory that will preserve his hangups about putting other people before himself and trying to be older and wiser than he really is - maybe he's from a high-class family and had to assume a position of high responsibility after his parents died? I'll work on this.

I still have to consider culture stuff more, but I think he's going to be a Historian, and his Enlightened types are going to be Psychic and Fairy, poss...ibly Child of the Verdant Forest for his perk?
Looking For: I don't expect to get castmates from anything Rune Factory that isn't 4, but I'd like to maybe network with other people planning on science/scholarly-type characters so we can get interesting things rolling on the non-combatant front. Also, since I'm planning on having Ondorus come from a high-class family of some kind, maybe planning some pre-existing connections from there?
edit: I CAN'T READ "Historians often work hand in hand with Delvers", evidently, so if anyone plans on playing a Delver character, let's join forces!

Brief History: Dude moves into a new town, freaky murders start happening. He finds out he can go into a world inside the TV. Cue him and the friends he ends up making going into this world in order to get to the bottom of what's been happening, beating the stuffing out of embodiments of people's darker sides along the way.

AU Ideas: Souji will be living with his uncle and his younger cousin as per his time in Inaba in canon, mostly because his parents have gone missing in the wilderness. He'll be looking to potentially become a Ranger, so that he can look for his parents. His uncle is either a guard or also a ranger--either way, he's not home lot, just like his canon counterpart. Souji's types will be Electric and Steel and his perk will be Kindred Soul!
Looking For: Social links social links social links Well, should we end up not getting a Yosuke at some point, I'd like for someone to take the role of Souji's best friend and partner! I'd also like a character who'd be willing to serve as a mentor for Souji and maybe younger kids for him to mentor and mother-hen over.

Character Name: Marie
Canon Name: Rhythm Thief and the Emperor's Treasure
Brief History: Marie was left at a convent with some sheet music and a violin when she was an infant. She grew up wanting to reunite with her family and was going to become a famous violinist to try and find them (specifically her mother, but.). She ends up running into the hero (Raphael) and he saves her from some goons being commanded by Napoleon who has somehow come back to life apparently. Shenanigans happen while Raphael and Marie attempt to get to the bottom of all the connections.

AU Ideas: Marie's going to be from a higher-class family, possibly living with some other relative due to missing parents (although I'm toying with the idea that one actually is present, just... working so much they might as well not be there and the other missing/dead). Can you tell I'm still trying to untangle things here... As far as types go, I'm thinking Normal or Fairy types? I think she'll possibly be a Child of the Verdant Forest, as well!

... Yeah I don't know, this is all still kind of a mess. (also despite the art style making Marie look younger, she's actually around 18)
Looking For: Maybe an analogue to Raphael, someone who will just... stick by her and occasionally come bail her out when she gets damsel-in-distress-y?

Character Name: Lux Crownguard
Canon Name: League of Legends
Brief History: Lux is a member of the Crownguard family, a very prestigious family within the city-state of Demacia. Extremely gifted in light-based magic, she fights in the league both to follow her older brother, Garen's, footsteps, as well as to find meaning in a life where she, quite frankly, feels she has no other option.

AU Ideas: Luxanna will be a member of the house of Crownguard, a high-born Enlightened family within Union that is currently fighting for relevancy in the changing world. The only girl in their generation, she's not been given a lot of freedom in the choices she's allowed to make--if nothing else, she's viewed as a means to keep the family in power, through marriage. Exceedingly bright, she plans to, as the game starts, use her wits in order to have an adventure in the great wide wilderness, as a last hurrah before familial obligations take over.
Looking For: She'll have a cousin in Ky, but I'm looking for Garen a brother for her to look up to. I've also toyed with the idea of having some kind of maid/friend that she grew up along with.

She's also promised to someone from another high-born family, and while I'm fine with having that person be hand-waved off screen, I'm fine with entertaining a PC. The marriage won't be happening, though, so bare that in mind when you do respond.


Character Name: Aerith Gainsborough
Canon Name: Final Fantasy VII
Brief History: Raised in the slums by her adoptive mother, connected to the planet, gets kabobed by someone with prettier hair than hers. I think everyone knows the story.

AU Ideas: I'm keeping relatively close to canon for her backstory. She'll be coming into Union as a young child, brought in by her mother who dies soon afterward due to injuries. I'm planning on having her being part of a small clan of people descended from another blessed by the legendaries (much like the hero was), but I'm still working out the details on that.
Looking For: Adoptive family would be pretty boss. Other former tribe members--although she won't actually remember it--would also be pretty awesome. LET'S MAKE A COOL CETRA PROXY TOGETHER.

Character Name: Garfield "Gar" Mark, AKA Beast Boy
Canon Name: Teen Titans
Brief History: When his parents tried an experimental cure on him to cure a strange disease that was killing him, Garfield gained shapeshifting powers. He could turn into any animal with ease, but he also gained a distinctive green coloration. He went on to become a super hero, first as a member of the Doom Patrol, then as a member of the Teen Titans.

AU Ideas: My main idea is he will be a shifter who turns into a Ditto and then turns into other pokemon. I think I'd take him from around when he was just leaving the Doom Patrol, character arc wise, so he'd have been part of some super elite fighting force until recently, where he was always the New Kid, but has now gone his separate way to metaphorically spread his wings. Maybe he was a Swords of the Savior trainee, but eventually quit.
Looking For: A bunch of similarly aged friends (mid teens) who he can hang out with and be a goofball around. People to clash with over his strong opinions about animal rights and vegetarianism.

Character Name: Zarvora Cybeline
Canon Name: The Greatwinter Trilogy
Brief History: Librarian from a post-apocalyptic 40th century Australia. She built a human powered computer so she could calculate when an ancient machine from before the Greatwinter (nuclear winter) would activate and cause another Greatwinter, and sort of ended up being the de facto ruler of half the continent in the process. She also has bird DNA in her that makes her resistant to psychic effects that work on mammals.

AU Ideas: A professor who is fascinated in recreating the technology of the forgotten ages. She's even interested in things like pokeballs, saying that while their use in bygone ages were reprehensible, the theories behind them are still worth studying. Her dark secret is that she doesn't ACTUALLY see Pokeballs as that reprehensible, and might eventually use them if she thinks she can get away with it. She's also a Flying/Psychic type enlightened, but generally keeps this to herself.
Looking For: People who are her superiors but intimidated by her even so. People for her to have duels with (She had a lot of duels in canon. Being a librarian in 40th century Australia was hardcore.). People who are freakishly smart that she can be attracted to. People to criticize her headlong dash into understanding taboo technologies.

Character Name: Morgiana
Canon Name: Magi: Labyrinth of Magic
Brief History: A slave girl and one of the last survivors of the Fanalis clan: a race of warriors and hunters with superhuman physical abilities. She was freed, and joined a magi and an exiled prince on a journey to save the world from a mysterious organization hell bent on fighting against destiny by dragging the world into chaos and war.

AU Ideas: A Fighting/Fire type God of War. Morgiana's exact circumstances would depend on what Union's rules on slavery are. I am imagining it is officially illegal, but there might still be a black market slave trade or some form of indentured servitude that is awful.
Looking For: A former master who is awful, friends to help rehabilitate her from a life of slavery, other gods of war to clash with.

AU Ideas: Virgil's gonna be a Fighting/Psychic Child of the Verdant Forest. She's always been especially sensitive in picking up the moods of pokemon. She is a rescuer, or member of law enforcement - dealing justice and wandering in the wilderness to help those in need.

Looking For: Someone more grounded to play buddy cops with. Also hoping to give her an Espurr for a starter.

Character Name: Kaito
Canon Name: Vocaloid
Brief History: An AI that spontaneously became self-aware and fallen in love hard with his creator. He's eventually given a physical body, though he learn his creator has more paternal feelings for him, but life goes on.

AU Ideas: A Normal/Flying Swablu Shifter (eventually evolving to an Altaria shifter), who was injured as a young Swablu and nursed back to health by a kind human, and wanted to meet the human again to thank him, and his wish was heard - giving him a human form.
Looking For: Optionally someone who would've been that human who helped Kaito years ago. Other Vocaloids as his siblings who either want to see why he likes humans or drag him back home. And ideally someone to take him in.

Brief History: Yang is what happens when you introduce Goldilocks with berserker rage over her hair to a world full of monsters and magic, make her somehow related to Red Riding Hood, throw in a touch of magical girls, a school to train people to defend the innocent masses, and terrorist furry organizations. She engages in fisticuffs and sets things (mostly herself and her fists) on fire, but is overall p friendly and personable. Just don't touch her hair. (See: here.)

AU Ideas: I'm actually sort of still waffling on this but afaik so far, Yang is a definite candidate for a God of War Enlightened because 1. she's won all of her fights so far, 2. it's Yang. We don't have a lot of info about her and Ruby's backstory as of yet but I still want sisters growing up together and embarking on the whole Enlightened journey together. Probably coming from a middle class family at least.
Looking For: Team RWBY please. But other than that, Yang is super social and talks to p much everyone, which would be fun considering I love crosscanon CR and there's so much potential there. Also there are three bear pokémon and their evolutions and I want to play with that like a dumbass.

Character Name: Roxy Lalonde
Canon Name: Homestuck
Brief History: Roxy is an underaged alcoholic (who eventually recovers!) that comes from a post-apocalyptic future in an alternate universe where only two humans are still alive in a Waterworld-esque landscape. She winds up playing a game that decides the fate of everything, where she plays with a bunch of other kids (some of them being candy corn horned aliens) from alternate universes to try and stop The Big Bad Evil(s) that threaten the well-being of everyone in existence. After dying and being revived she has some fun powers where she can create/summon things by taking the nothingness (aka void) out of them. She also engages in fisticuffs but utilizes long-range guns. idefk. Homestuck, man.

AU Ideas: Aiming for Roxy to be a Kindred Soul Enlightened to reflect her relationship with cats/carapaces/sprites/AIs. Probably upper/upper-middle class family, considering the Lalondes in canon. She'll be feeling a little isolated even in such a big place as Union, but it won't be nearly as bad as in canon where she is literally alone save for the cats and carapaces. She will definitely be gungho about going on adventures, get her out of dodge and into the big wide yonder. Other than that I'm p flexible.
Looking For: Definitely want a familial thing with a Rose with a uhh probably in-the-background mother, I don't know how to work out the Alpha/Beta Mom thing and idk if she's even playable. Definitely want some people to get into hijinks with, but also bail out of trouble/knock sense into because that's sort of her role in things at this point isn't it.

Anything else?: itc Snow proposes two overall friendly girls who flirt and is surprised because this is not his usual type, OH WELL. All of this is very very rough and not set in stone, so I'm ridiculously flexible on anything and everything.

Character Name: Eren Jaeger
Canon Name: Shingeki no Kyojin; Attack on Titan
Brief History: The protagonist of SNK, Eren is a 15 year old boy from a world where humans are almost extinct thanks to monsters called Titans. Titans rule the lands outside the Walls, which encompass all of humanity's known territory. Titans kill and eat humans without mercy and heal and regenerate at astronomical rates. Eren is a product of his environment. Inherently curious and longing for freedom from the livestock-like life humans have eked out for themselves, Eren is a nice kid with some... serious anger issues. He reacts violently when confronted and hates Titans with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. Mostly because he saw one eat his mother in front of him. Eren then joined the military, learning to use 3DMG to fight the Titans. He discovered he had the unique ability to turn into that which he hates; a Titan. Using his powers, he's able to kill buttloads of other Titans, but it makes him a target of governmental and religious suspicion. Eren joins the Scouting Legion/Survey Corps, a branch of the military devoted to trying to reclaim territory and discover the secrets of the Titans. The deeper Eren and the Scouting Legion dig, the more they realize the Titans may be way more than what they seem.

AU Ideas: I say the best AU is the one that stays as close to source material as possible! As such, Eren is going to be an Enlightened Shifter, and his pokémon form is a shiny skarmory, mirroring his canon-counterpart's aerial fighting style and use of blades. A bird suits a boy that longs for freedom most of all. As in canon, his mother, Carla, is killed by a rampaging monster. In this case, a Tyranitar. The monster escaped with only minor injuries after wreaking havoc in Eren's neighborhood. Eren's father disappeared thereafter. Orphaned Eren did his best with his friends Mikasa and Armin, and eventually they enrolled in the Guard. During training, they were attacked by wild Pokémon, and Eren discovered his nature as a shifter! However, since he wasn't raised as a proper Skarmory, he lacks the armored body of his species ("Weak Armor" ability). The only metal on his body is his skull-like helmet, his primary feathers, his talons, and the scales on his legs. His lack of body armor sacrifices a Skarmory's naturally high defense for more speed and attack power. He also doesn't know how to fly. Oops. In human form, he looks about like his canon self with a few modifications. His pupils can narrow to slits if he is angry or stressed, his ears are pointed (throwback to his canon Titan form!), he has small steel scales and claws on his hands, a few brassy silver feathers on his shoulders and back, and digitigrade legs with birdy talons.
Looking For: Castmates, canon proxies, WHATEVER. Eren needs to have some childhood friends to help him get through the whole "mom eaten by a Tyranitar" deal. These can also be actual siblings. They need not be Mikasa and Armin, though I would like someone who is protective of him and some smart to keep them on track. BASICALLY i am super psyched about this and I am UP FOR ANYTHING.

Canon Name: Homestuck
Brief History: John is one of several kids that pick up this video game that ends up heralding the end of the planet. This game, called Sburb in John's reality, is meant to be played when the universe hits its peak. The object of said game is to win and create a brand new universe. So, John and his three best friends tackle this game, (the alternative is to be crushed by meteors that begin pummeling the earth) and win. Sadly they are sabotaged at literally every turn. John is kind of the main character, as he's the first one to start playing, and a lot of stuff kind of centers around him but not entirely. Backstory wise, just for him, John was a relatively normal kid living in a suburb in Washington State with his Dad.

AU Ideas: SO, yeah. I've got a few things figured out for John. He's going to be a Ghost/Flying type to sort of parallel his affinity for the paranormal and also pay homage to his powers in canon, which were wind based. Though, for this one I'm mostly focusing on the ghost aspect. Because I already have an AU John somewhere else that focuses on the windy stuff. I also want to make him a shifter, since one of his abilities in canon is to literally become the wind. If that's all cool then his Shifter form is going to be a shiny Gastly/Haunter/Gengar I kind of assumed he would probably evolve as he went and so would his form 8|a

Appearance-wise he's not going to look too weird just yet. Probably fangs like a Gastly and an occasional ghostly aura. The more he goes along, the spookier he'll get. I'M STILL THINKING ABOUT IT. IF ANYONE HAS ANY IDEAS THAT WOULD BE SWEET.

Looking For: ANYTHING REALLY! I'm open to a lot of shenanigans. John is a trickster as heart so he likes to play pranks and be a bother, but he's a good kid. He generally tries to spend as much time as he can out exploring. I'm up for anything per-established or played out IG! Normal day to day stuff or dangerous situations! Come to me 0u0

Brief History: A youth who was born in the Casualry social class and lived in Kiccigiorgi within the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado. When he came of age, he and his childhood friend went to Mikado Castle to under-go to Rite that would determine whether or not they would become Samurai, the military group of the kingdom. Flynn was chosen while his friend was not, and he got mixed up in the age-old conflict between Law and Chaos and gained many Demon allies along the way. And it wasn't the first time this had happened to him either.

AU Ideas: Flynn is from a modest family and I think he best fits as a Steel/Normal Kindred Soul, due to the Demon Negotiating in his canon game. He had a fairly ordinary childhood and went on to become a guard when he was old enough. But like in his canon, his home is attacked and some of the people he knew hinted that his parents didn't make it. He's also the reincarnation of a person from long ago, and it's only apparent through his abilities and fighting-style.
Looking For: Walter, Johnathan, Isabeau, or anyone who is remotely outgoing. Flynn is a quiet guy so he needs chatty people in his life to be his friends that he may end up killing later, wait what?

Brief History: Grumpy shrine maiden who maintains the barrier between the magical land of Gensoukyo and the modern world outside that is basically supposed to be our world. She's also supposed to keep the peace between the humans and youkai that live in Gensoukyo, but she's really lazy about it.

AU Ideas: An orphaned priestess of a run down, no name shrine people rarely visit, who is in reality the last known member of a family of priests who served a god of protection and balance between man and nature. Said family can trace the non-enlightened side of their lineage to before the Pokemon War even if the records are sketchy, but it was the first member of their number to be born Enlightened, who is believed to have been related to the Savior, with it not really mattering how directly, who founded this particular shrine in Union as a resulotion to do her part to make sure that the Savior's promise is kept by continuing to promote the need to keep balance between humans and pokemon. Since then they've been an Enlightened family who has mostly been primarily Fairy type with a few having secondary or primary typings of normal or flying and producing a lot of Children of the Verdant Forest and Kinderd Souls (they never actually tried to breed for those things on purpose though). Some members of that clan went into politics or joined the Rangers or the Swords of the Savior in pursuit of their goal, but most of them stayed more or less off the grid maintaining their shrine and helping to keep balance in a less official capacity in a way that could be seen as playing vigilante. Reimu herself is a God of War who is Normal/Flying/Fairy, and often ends up going out to various places around Union, such as the Industrial District, the Old City or out beyond the walls to bust heads, sometimes loosely in pursuit of continuing this duty, which often includes picking fights with other Enlightened since one of their tenants is keeping their fellow Enlightened from abusing their powers. These fights tend to either be justified instances of standing up to bullies or pointless brawls caused by misunderstandings depending, but they almost always end up with her befriending whoever she was fighting with afterwards. This can also involve protecting humans from wild pokemon or helping pokemon in need, so there's that too. At the end of the day, this Reimu is still pretty lazy about it at times, but she often has nothing better to do and gets bored so she will sometimes be less reluctant for those reasons.
Looking For: People to be part of the small band of trouble makers that are her only visitors at her shrine. These being canon mates would be nice, but not necessary. I still would really like a Marisa for her to hang with though. Touhoumon means that Touhou peeps have plenty to draw inspiration from as far as Enlightened goes. Anyway, anyone who she might end up befriending after having a hilarious misunderstanding that ends in violence is welcome. So are people she might have accidentally/not so accidentally helped in one of her misadventures. Someone outgoing who is willing to put up with her grump and drag her into adventures and trouble (again Marisa would be nice, but anyone else can help fill this role too), or someone who knew her family and will stop by to troll her out of boredom, while secretly helping and keeping an eye on her (like a Yukari), or just someone who will stop by and sit around with her drinking tea and talking about random things (Marisa again, Remilia, Suika (though replace tea with sake), Sanae, Alice, or anyone else canon or otherwise who'd fit)

Brief History: A talented Navy cadet with unusually strong spiritual powers - at a level typically only found in women, he is brought in to serve as the ticket taker for the Imperial Theater, which is actually a front for the Imperial Assault Force, a group that employs psychic mecha called Kobu to battle the evil Kouma demons that threaten the capitol. Hijinks and romantic comedy ensue.

AU Ideas: In canon, the Imperial Assault Force is a special force dedicated to fighting evil hidden within the city under the guise of a theater troupe. In Union, it is an ancient order dedicated to serving and protecting the gods. With the gods having departed, they're still active, generally helping to protect Union while searching for evidence of the gods. It will retain the name of Flower Division, and will still be located in a theater. While in canon, they get in giant mecha to hide their identity in this case that's not really viable SO I'm thinking super hero outfits with masks and shit. And probably nobody will be fooled.
Looking For: More members for the Flower Division! We will also have a Sakura Shinguji but anybody who wants to be an actor/actress by day superhero by night should look us up! Breaking from canon, we're fine having male and female actors and actresses (whereas in canon it was an all-female ensemble). Ogami is still a ticket taker though.

It's up to Lucas to stop the destruction of the world and stop his brainwashed brother through the Power of Love, more or less literally. Sadly, the only way to do this is to... also destroy the world.

AU Ideas: Lucas is not going to be too drastically AUed if I app, but essentially, it will go that he and his family lived a ways out from Union in the woods, acting as caretakers of that area of the forest. One day, something inexplicable happened - the forest caught fire, his mother, Hinawa, was killed by a strange rampaging Pokemon, his twin brother mysteriously vanished, and his father left Lucas to go search for Claus and never came back. Lucas would have been sent to Union to be safer, and things progressed from there. Lucas will have recently find himself to be an Enlightened Psychic, with Child of the Verdant Forest. He'll earn his keep working at the Medical Center.

Looking For: Canon parallels to act as Lucas's friends would include a gutsy, brash princess, and an older thief! One of the themes of Mother 3 is intergenerational friendship so I'd be cool and open with any CR whatsoever.

Anything else?: Nothing particular! Lucas will probably prefer to focus on learning how to use his abilities to help and heal people.

AU Ideas: Sybille is an Absol who has, over her longer-than-usual life, gained the ability to take on a human form. During her time in Union, she'll be faking it until she makes it, getting in with the university as well as endearing herself to a high-born family as a personal tutor through her wide variety of knowledge and strange but enchanting innovations that she suggests--all of which seem to somehow work.

In actuality, Sybille will be using Future Sight as a means to, well, cheat in some regards. Her main goal is to bring Pokeon and man closer together, to further prevent history from repeating itself.
Looking For: She'll have Hero (name currently undecided) to try to help set some of her things in action, but really what she is going to be looking for is people to make things move; explore, put things into action. She'll likely be putting herself out there to various groups in order to further her goal.

I'm also looking for a family to affiliate with, possibly characters who she personally taught? Basically, because I am not pulling the noble-born scholar thing that she has in canon, she needs a sponsor; if I can't find one, she doesn't really work :/

As mentioned before, the Univir clan are rich and eccentric and holy moly do they ever love Shifters. (Like their whole founding mythos is based on a conspiracy theory that the Savior or one of her kids-in-law was a Shifter.) And depending on how old Sybille is going to be, they have a nerdy son who probably had a tutor and went on to become a Historian.

Character Name: Rise Kujikawa
Canon Name: Persona 4 and its 7 million spinoffs
Brief History: Okay so what if a bunch of psychological components of the human mind as posited by Carl Jung could take physical form and you could make them fight each other? What if some jerk decided to throw a bunch of people from a small town into a parallel universe inside TVs where that happened? It would make a pretty cool murder mystery, right?

Rise Kujikawa was one of the intended victims (only not really but spoilers) of that plot. She was a smash hit pop idol in Japan who'd returned home after burning out on the stress of maintaining constant public appearances only to get thrown through a big screen and suddenly confronted with her massive self-image issues, only to be saved by the Scooby Gang no wait yeah that pretty much describes them. When she admits to her issues and decides to face them instead of ignoring them she gains the power of PERSONA and become's the game's approximate equivalent of Navi for the dungeon-crawling sections.

tl;dr the gang goes on to save and/or recruit several more people and eventually unravel the mystery of WHY people are getting thrown into TV sets and then WHY the person doing that got that ability in the first place (spoilers it's Atlus so some ancient eldritch god did it). Meanwhile Rise learns to deal with having a public and private life at the same time, flirts outrageously with the main character at every opportunity, and is generally an overly enthusiastic Japanese adolescent.

Then there are like five sequels, only one of which seems to involve her in any capacity other than damsel in distress, not that I'm bitter or anything.

AU Ideas: The young rising star of Union's music scene seems like an appropriate place to put this girl. Her voice would be familiar to anyone who likes upbeat cheery music to make you forget it's after the apocalypse and can't get Radio New Vegas Damn I should app the Courier next. Laura Bailey two-of-a-kind.

Anyway, yes, definitely still a performer, probably both on the radio and on stage, and also probably still very stressed out about it. Early on in the RP I'd want something to push her into taking a more active, Pokémon-trainy role, although she'll still probably work best supporting a group.
Looking For: Other than eyeing that Senpai upthread a fair ways, a Persona 4 cast is always good, as are fans, fellow performers, creepers, and people to stand behind and give valuable tactical advice to as opposed to doing all the fighting herself. I might have her join the Flower Brigade at least unofficially because doubling down on AUs is never not hilarious.

Brief History: Jean is the bratty, normal foil to Eren's completely crazy-devoted main character. Bad stuff happens to him in canon which makes him mature into a rather capable young man, though he still says whatever's on his mind in a way that usually ends up with people feeling like they've been scolded by someone who should be the one getting scolded. Well, that's mature Jean, anyway. Before that, he was an immature jerk who got into fights and loudly proclaimed how people who risked their lives going into danger were stupid, etc. So yeah, he was a brat. What a guy.

AU Ideas: SO I HAVEN'T REALLY DECIDED whether I'm aging up Jean a little or if he's just gonna keep being a bratty child but, well. He'll either be in the Guard and miserable about it, or have big dreams of joining the Swords of the Savior because wow, that's cool as heck (and end up in the Guard anyway.) He'll use the fact that he's an Enlightened Trainer he'll be really, really cocky about it and super happy because prestige is a big thing for him. Well, as a brat anyway. I plan on maybe having him be Enlightened, Normal/Flying!! Flying to match his 3DMG and Normal because a big part of Jean is the fact that even when he excels at something, he's still painfully normal. He's probably have Mastery of Battle, since in canon he's a natural leader, etc. He's very emphatic, so I see him getting along really well with his pokemon companions, though with how rude he is to people, you'd have to wonder... There's a really nice kid hidden under all these layers of "man I'm so cool"

Looking For: ^^^ I want Jean to end up in the Guard no matter how hard he tries to aim big, because his life is like that!! But obviously that's not necessarily happening immediately. If that's the case then... I want friends for Jean to get mad at and irritated at and... I'm not super sure what else? I want for one of his bonded pokemon to die so he'll mature and become nice... HEH. I also want him to bond with an Audino because I love the thought of him trying to be cool and having this one super sweet pokemon who believes in him Marduino. But then again, I figure he's gonna have Fletchling as his starter so maybe he'll just be that jerk who inexplicably made friends with all these cuties. They can sense his potential, see.

At some point, he'll want to go out and see everything for himself in order to record what the world is like.

Brief History: Margot is a trollish adventurer that comes from a land full of 1880s magical fun times. She inadvertently gets caught up in a revolution and does a lot of buttkicking. Her life is full of tragedy and drinking.

AU Ideas: So Margot's life would be far less tragic in an AU setting since her sister would be able to get actual medical treatment which alleviates a lot of problems. I'm still working on AUing all of her history, ffff. Definitely going to be an Enlightened along the Fire/Flying type route because it'll fit a little better with her OU abilities (elemental magic; mostly using fire and wind, etc, etc.) Looking at Mastery of Battle for her Trainer ability because she's very much I FIGHT YOU or maybe Kindred Soul.

Other than that, she works as a delver and kind of rejects societal norms, mostly of the marriage variety. "Yeah, I'll get married next year. Cool." Eventually she'll prance off into the wilderness to avoid these awkward questions and chill with Pokemon because that's where the party's at.

Looking For: Pretty much anything. Explorer bros, other delvers to talk to, friends. I'm up for any kind of CR with my potential characters. o/

Brief History: Spazzy little energetic ball of energy and friendlyness... except when she's a cold calculating backstabbing monster. However lately she has been way more the spazzy little ball of energy and nice! She's just an fantastic little mundane girl with nothing special to her in canon except her own self identity!

AU Ideas: By and large, Imogen has to be in a profession where her sheer energy and friendliness is a bit of a put off. I haven't thought this through, her passions in canon are art, fashion, and theater... which she probably still has as a hobby. I'm somewhat leaning toward Delver in game, but I'm not sure.

What I do know is that her typing is Fairy (her energy, friendly, and playful side)/Dark (her cruel, backstabbing, and schemey side). She's probably also Kindred, as she's very big on animals and being super nice and understanding of them.
Looking For: I want Imogen to be connected to the upper class families enough that she causes trouble by being, well, as interested in girls as she is boys. And generally being a bit against the idea of marriage, arranged marriage, and the social pressures of having kids. Otherwise hit me up with ideas that can use such a world view, because I am all for helping others with their ideas!

Brief History: Member of a Top Secret Military Organization that is somewhat connected to the video game franchise Halo if you turn your head and squint. (Ie: Halo is canon to RvB, RvB is not canon to Halo). The Organization fell apart after it was learned that you shouldn't be putting unstable AIs into people's heads. He unfortunately dies.

AU Ideas: It's rough, but I'm looking at possibly making him a ranger or Sword of the savior, as it connects to him being a freelancer. However, given his nuturing personality, he'd be the type that focuses more on bonding with pokemon rather than battling with them.
Looking For: I guess mainly finding canon parallels would be a good start, especially North's characterization tends to connect to his twin sister, South, and so if I were to app him, I'd want a South to work things out with.
Also a way to work in Theta, his AI.
In terms of the events, I imagine that there might be some pressure on him to focus more on battling, or really just putting him into a grey area, that maybe what he does is not the good thing he wants it to be.
As well, general CR because he is an easygoing guy who likes to make friends.

Anything else?: All of this is really rough and cursory, mostly just throwing some ideas together and seeing what happens/if people are interested. To be honest, I don't quite know if I'll have time for the game right away because of school, but I'd like to get some ideas going. Thanks :D

Brief History: (SPOILERS like whoa, of course)

Canonly, Fai is the imperial prince who was born a twin in a world where twins were considered cursed. Since cursed twins meant a curse on the entire country, they were blamed for the death of their parents and everything bad that happened ever, and eventually imprisoned (at around age 3 or 4) so that they would suffer even more than the country had suffered because of them. Because their uncle was a dickbag.

This eventually led to Fai's twin dying and him blaming himself for it, and he ended up working for the Big Bad in an attempt to bring his brother back to life. Except the Power Of Love And Friendship eventually wins him over to the good side, he stops blaming himself for everything ever, and is less of an idiot. Hooray!

AU Ideas: In this AU, Fai and his brother were born into a family in which only Psychic/Fairy Enlightened had been born for hundreds of years. Unfortunately, they turned out to be Psychic/Flying and Fairy/Ghost respectively. Big whoops. And their uncle can't have kids and there's only him and their father left, and their mom doesn't seem to be able to have more children. HUGE whoops. So basically they've been treated like a huge mistake and an impurity in the bloodline all of their lives, and have seen their mother blamed for the error because clearly it has to be her fault.

Fai rather quickly reacted with open rebellion, in more ways than one. He used his fondness for dressing in women's clothes upset and provoke, tatooed a great big bird on his back as a subtle FUCK YOU I'M THE FLYING TYPE, and generally has a hard time behaving appropriately for his station. His brother subsequently was forced to be the "good" twin, the diplomatic one that acted as a liason and a mediator for him. Their decision to explore the world as trainers is the first time they both openly defied their family.

What Fai wants to do with his life is be a researcher, and to that end traveling around and exploring sounds like an excellent plan. He is not the most shrinking of violets, and especially in higher society he is probably widely known as the crazy Flourite kid who wears dresses and acts more than a little inappropriately.

Looking For: ANYTHING oh god I want all the old friends / classmates from the Univeristy / friends of his family / antagonists!

And oh god if there is ever anyone out there who plays a psychic/fairy or fairy girl belonging to the higher classes, I would love for him to have an arranged-since-they-were-toddlers fiance, or former fiance who stopped being betrothed to him for any number of reasons. Do come at me ladies.

What about a psychic type (although I had been playing with the idea of making her Psychic/Fairy, so this would be a good time to switch)? I've been looking for someone to have her be betrothed to (that, again, wouldn't work out) due to political reasons, to further keep her family from becoming antiquated and fall to the wayside.

If all else fails, she is from a high-born family with very old roots, and will have also attended the academy, although is a fair bit younger than most students there.

AU Ideas: I'm thinking Dirk is a Steel-type Enlightened with Engineer. He's heavily interested in a career path in engineering, in heavy contrast to the brother who raised him, an entertainer of some sort. (Does Union have a need for heavily surrealist plays? Dirk's unnamed NPC bro is your man.) He's probably already working as some sort of research assistant. Aside from that I'm mostly just winging it?

AU Ideas: I don't really have any hard-set ideas; I'm currently just testing the waters to see if there's any interest to play actual pokemon characters at this (really awesome looking) pokéRP? I'm leaning towards making him a fire/[something]-type Enlightened with Mastery of Training. He comes from well-respected Pokemon Researcher lineage, but then decides that he doesn't want to live in his grandfather's shadow his whole life, so he starts working towards becoming a straight-up Researcher instead. (Still, his grandfather's name probably opens doors for him.) Periodically he travels with roving teams into the wilderness or Old City because it doesn't get more cutting-edge than that. He also likes to keep his battling skills sharp and he doesn't like staying in one place for too long.

Looking For: Any pokemon characters from any verse??? (My kingdom for Red and Leaf.) People who are interested in making friends with someone like Green, who likes anything having to do with pokemon and harbors a fascination for (old) technology, is fairly competitive, and who's kind of a massive troll/flirt/general troublemaker? Also he has a tendency to mother hen the living daylights out of people, so if your character wants someone to yell at them and make sure they remember to eat, Green is possibly your man.

Brief History: In the grimdark future the world really sucks because of people being greedy dicks and the results of events which would happen in Buffy season 8/9 which were written way after this series. Melaka Fray is the first slayer in a hundred years, and it falls on her to fix up some of the badass. She doesn't accomplish that much other than preventing demons from taking over the world.

AU Ideas: Well I can't not have a (supposedly) dead brother and I can't not have missing/dead parents without making her not herself. Other than that... I'm not sure. Lower class, for sure, and I'd want to say a criminal connection but I'm not positive how to run a criminal connection in this setting without it being a stigma on her forever. But currently she's turning her life around through no real insight of her own (yet)
Looking For: ... Someone to turn her life around. In canon this ends up being someone who betrays her and she finds actualization via killing them, but basically I'm just looking for some mentor figure to make her want to make her life less aimless and maybe explorer-er. I'm a bit vague here.

Something you might consider is, if she's orphaned, have her have been a troubled youth. That's not necessarily uncommon and if she can get it together it wouldn't necessarily destroy her prospects as an adult so long as she can eventually get with the program, as it were.
