Given the nature of AU, below is a form that can be used for planning purposes when plotting out your character. While it is not required to fill out the form, we encourage you take a look at the listings in this post and use them as a guide when setting up plots or planning character backgrounds.

Brief History:

He was a punk kid in Japanese middle-school that could sense or sometimes see ghosts. Then his rival died, came back with Kuwabara's help, got Kuwabara caught up in the affairs of the Spirit World, and at some point Kuwabara figured out how to turn "sensing energy" into "making a sweet-ass sword-pole-vault-whip-thing out of energy"

Now they fight crime.

Crime committed by demons.

And sometimes psychics.

AU Ideas:

Kuwabara is a delinquent teen (15) that spends time doing pretty much anything that's not studying, but especially getting into fights. However, he has his own code of honor and most of his fights tends to be other rough-housers (he won't randomly attack anyone that's not going to fight back, for example).

In addition, despite his bad reputation, he will leap to save other people from bullies or other danger.

He also senses ghosts, which he mostly finds inconvenient and kind of creepy.

Looking For:

Some possible AU CR would be other middle-school kids, or other ne'er do wells that he's run into. If you're a jerk, he probably hates you and wants to beat you up. If you're not a jerk but do live to fight, he probably still wants to fight you, to prove he's stronger.

Alternatively, he also senses ghosts, so he may know other people that have connections to ghost-types (he may have asked them for help in tuning down the involuntary ghost sense? That has happened in canon)

If he's been brawling on the streets, there are good chances he's run into Kaido. He's older, and now considers himself in charge of his makeshift family, but he used to be a sort-of-delinquent himself, and, well, some things stick. And he'll definitely fight if provoqued.

Whether or not he's a jerk entirely depends on your definition of "jerk"
