AU PLANNING MEME

Given the nature of AU, below is a form that can be used for planning purposes when plotting out your character. While it is not required to fill out the form, we encourage you take a look at the listings in this post and use them as a guide when setting up plots or planning character backgrounds.

Character Name: Link
Canon Name: The Legend of Zelda, Skyward Sword.
Brief History: Link's past is a complete baffling mystery, but what we do know about him (in this incarnation) is that he's a student at the Knight's Academy in Skyloft. After his final exam his best friend falls below the clouds (Skyloft is above the clouds) and he adventures out to save her. He is very selfless, willing to help anyone he can find but never forgets his goal of saving his friend. He possess power, courage and wisdom which is why he is considered the Hero of Destiny. He has no actual dialogue in game, but his actions speak for his personality, however, we do know he can speak (he does have sound effects, and there is always off screen explanations when he is trying to catch people up on the situation). He can use an assortment of weapons and gadgets during the game, like the harp, a grappling hook, a whip, bow and arrows, bombs, etc.

AU Ideas:
So I already applied and got accepted, but I would still like some opinions on these ideas. He is a pretty simple character, so I made his backstory quite simple.

- Link grew up in Union, anonymously at a local orphanage (didn't know if orphanages existed in Union, but I got approved with it so I'm sticking with it).
- He's 16.
- He's quiet and shy but still has his kickass determination and selflessness that makes him Link
- He wants to join the rangers, but he's still a teen so I don't think he can yet. I think the rangers is the best place for him because it suits his dedication to protecting his friends and allows him some adventure.
- Unlike canon, Link will be the one seeking out adventures (whereas in canon all the trouble came to him).
- He admires the Savour because she was courage and selflessness
- He holds Pokemon in high respect, thinking of them as companions rather than tools
- He is a flying/fire type. Flying because he has a Loftwing which is crucial in Skyward Sword and Fire because it's my favourite element and he does visit a volcano/Fire Sanctuary for a good chunk of the game.

Ability wise
First stage:
Link has a fire sword, and can fly short distances but cannot fight while flying.

Second Stage:
Sword can now deflect/absorb fire attacks. He can also fly longer distances and can use his bow and arrows to attack enemies but his accuracy is very low.

Third Stage:
Sword can reflect fire moves back, much like his Skyward Strike. He is able to fly long distance and has a much sharper accuracy while flying and using his weapon.


Looking For: Anything really, a mentor would be nice; classmates, friends, neighbours, etc.

I look forward to playing with everyone! Also this is my first time RPing so any tips and advice would be appreciated.

If he shows aptitude for it, he can join. He might not be a fully-fledged Ranger, but he can certainly work with them.

If you want, I can have Cordelia act as a mentor figure. She's fairly high ranking in the Rangers and very well respected. Also they can ride Rapidashes together =D
