AU PLANNING MEME (FEBRUARY + MARCH)

Given the nature of AU, below is a form that can be used for planning purposes when plotting out your character. While it is not required to fill out the form, we encourage you take a look at the listings in this post and use them as a guide when setting up plots or planning character backgrounds.

Character Name: Weiss Schnee
Canon Name: RWBY
Brief History: At the very least, Weiss can be described as a cold girl. She projects an air of sophistication combined with a know-it-all attitude. Her words are usually sharp and to the point, and she has no qualms with giving her opinion, even if it isn't the nicest thing to say. Weiss wears a mask and puts a wall up around strangers.

Underneath her cold exterior, Weiss is lonely. It is difficult for her to get along with her peers because she is opinionated and bossy. It is possible that she learned the hard way that many people were only interested in her because of her status. Even though she loves her father, Weiss is determined to come out of his shadow and make a name for herself.

Basically she is a tsundere.

AU Ideas: So Weiss is from Union, and she is a student that has a legacy to fulfill. Her father worked on the Warp Band technology, and so he's made quite a bit of money. He is a scientist who wants Weiss to follow in his footsteps. But Weiss, being a bit rebellious, does not want to be a scientist. She wants to either be a ranger or City Guard. I haven't decided yet. Something that is definitely more dangerous.

She'll also be an Enlightened, like her mother. Her typing will be Ice/Fire, and her ability is Child of Unyielding Steel.

I'm still waffling on her starter Pokémon. Spheal and Vanillite seem great as starters, but Snorunt can evolve into Froslass. But what about Eevee for Glaceon? DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

Looking For: People with upbeat personalities that can counter her condescending attitude would be best. But I'm also keen on rivals, or people that dislike some of the things her father has done (I'm still deciding on how shady he is. I was thinking he could be discriminatory towards Homunculi/Enhanced). On the completely opposite side of that, people who know the Schnee name and want to be Weiss' best friend in hopes of getting close to her father.

Anything else?:

Ryuko is an Enhanced and she's grumpy enough to clash heads with a stuck-up richgirl princess anytime.

Wanna hate each other until maybe something happens that leads to sorta grudging respect and maybe friends later?

oh gosh, yes! i would love for them to clash! haha. and then maybe friends!

Maybe. Just maybe.

Ryuko's also pretty violent, aggressive and prone to going a bit crazy in a hard fight so it's possible she might kinda confirm all those scary Enhanced stories in Weiss' mind at the beginning. Just to make things worse initially.

But then friends.

ohhh! that's a good idea! a little bit of Weiss' father has certainly rubbed off on her, so I can see her also being nervous around ryuko, especially if she is violent. XD

Since Weiss is from a rich family, it's possible she and Natalia might know/be vaguely aware of each other? Since Natalia's nobility and has a family member on the Council.

(Although I don't doubt Natalia might side-eye Weiss's father at least a little bit depending on how shady he is exactly)

i would love that! i'm a big fan of TotA, and i love natalia. ;3; Weiss isn't nobility, but she has the Schnee name.

yeah, probably. i think a little of Weiss' father may have rubbed off on her, so she is a bit wary of the homunculi/enhanced.

or maybe they just disagreed about pointless things, like clothes. XD

With my current AU plans, Ridcully here would make an excellent obnoxious teacher to annoy standoffish students such as Weiss!

THAT...is something I would need to figure out, yes. In canon he's the archchancellor, which basically is the headmaster of a magical university. In this he's a bit lower ranked. He probably teaches several classes. History of Sanctuary, Responsible Use of Enlightened powers, Magical Theory...

Really though he tries to get out of actually lecturing whenever he can. His students need to show initiative and that means hunting him down before he leaves for the day to go fly fishing.

omg! she would totally scold him if she saw him wandering off to do things other than teaching. Weiss is one of those annoying students that would rather chase down the professor instead of just enjoying a day off. \O_o/

How about countering a condescending attitude with an upbeat air of superiority and an ego large enough to smother a blimp?

i can imagine Nero will grate on Weiss like no tomorrow. FUN.

I've got an upbeat personality who can rapidly turn around into bickering at a moment's notice if that helps at all.

Also out of curiosity, are you going hereditary nobility or new money for the Schnee family?

oh yay Rise! she's so cute! i would love to see how she interacts with Weiss.

and HM. i really don't know about that yet, either. when i consider it now, i think most of what i was going for was new money, though hereditary nobility could be good, too. that would make the Schnee name more well-known. i'm open to suggestions!

Her usual state with other women around her age is either instant-bffs or frenemies for life, and I have been slacking on getting the latter...

And I don't really have a suggestion other than that it might be good to have more snooty noble kids in a game with a lot of rebellious Disney Princess types in that social class: Lenna, Feliks, etc.

oh man, such a good idea. i would love to have Weiss be part of that Disney Princess trope.

How about a down-to-earth, honest fighting Calderan for future friend/rival/whatever? Adell might roll his eyes at her condescending attitude, and perhaps argue with her, but would definitely respect her abilities and desire to go out and go her own way.

And on the plus side, Adell's more the type to care more about who she is, rather than who her family is.

awww yes Adell~ Disgaea 2 is my favorite of the series, so I'm a pretty big Adell fan and i would love if they could be friends or rivals in the future. especially if he cares about her, and not her family name, that'll win him some brownie points.

Aw, that's great to hear! Disgaea 2 is my favorite too. Glad to hear someone else who loves it!

And a positive thing for Adell is his BNW self will have never had a bad run-in with a succubus so he's not going to have any hangups with girls. So with no initial weirdness around her, and with Weiss being a badass she'll probably impress him fast.

I look forward to it.
